After months of planning and location scouting, the deer skull photo shoot finally happened. My model and I spent about 6 months planning this shoot and waiting for the weather to turn in our favor. We ended up choosing a spot on the bank of Sturgeon Lake on Sauvie Island and driving out around sunset. We rented the deer skull from an interesting and somewhat strangely smelling shop called Artistic Taxidermy, which gave me a good deal on the rental price. Overall, this shoot was a lot of fun and my model was awesome (even when, despite her multiple warnings, I got my car keys wet and stranded us for a few hours).
